Reflecting analytically on Public Service Media (PSM) from the perspective of the multidimensional field of innovation is the main objective of this dossier. The articles and interviews included in this second volume reinforce the idea that the act of innovating in PSM should constitute an ethical and political imperative to face challenges such as information disorder, the defense of democracy, the perception of temporal acceleration, the collapse of "safe" institutions, and the challenges of artificial intelligence. The analytical reflections encompass PSM experiences from Brazil, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Spain, as well as specific contributions on university media. In short, the dossier elucidates that innovation in Public Service Media transcends the instrumental and technical dimension and should be perceived as a social and symbolic value essential to the vitality of the public sphere in the contemporary media ecosystem.
