This research, of an eminently anthropological nature, is based on two years of fieldwork, resulting in a multi-sited ethnographic portrait of what the author refers to as the nerve centers of power in the image industry—that is, the nodal points of production, reproduction, distribution, and circulation of images—within newsrooms linked to major visual content corporations in New York (Global Views Inc.) and Paris (Agence France-Presse).
