Abstract

Published in 2023, Building a Culture of Inclusivity: Effective Internal Communication for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, by Priya Bates and Advita Patel, presents a perspective on internal communication as a driver of cultural transformation, designed to translate the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) into tangible actions and support inclusive leadership in organisations. Structured in twelve chapters, the book articulates the ethical foundations of DEI with implementation models that translate purpose into practice and guide leaders and communication professionals in building fairer and more collaborative work environments. The authors advocate trust, active listening and consistency as pillars of inclusive and sustainable cultures. In a global context of setbacks in DEI policies, the work takes on special relevance as a contribution to critical reflection on the strategic and ethical role of communication and leadership in contemporary organisations.
