Author Biography

  • José Santana Pereira, ISCTE/CIES

    Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence, he is an Assistant Professor at ISCTE and an integrated researcher at CIES-ISCTE. His research focuses on the effects of the media on public opinion, comparative media systems, electoral behavior, and political attitudes (particularly populist attitudes). In these domains, he has published several articles and book chapters in Portuguese, English, and French. He is one of the researchers responsible for the projects "Media Systems in Europe" and "Mechanisms and Impacts of Electoral Abstention," as well as a member of the team responsible for the ICS-ISCTE Polls.
