Abstract

From the perspective of those who study republicanism and the First Republic, as well as from that of researchers working on cultural issues, the press, and the journalistic world, the work of Júlia Leitão de Barros is not only challenging but also essential reading. This brief review presents, in a concise and non-exhaustive manner, the richness of her work, which, among many other merits, compels us to rethink and reanalyze an era. I believe that one of the most important characteristics of this work lies precisely in its catalytic nature, as it opens the door to new reflections.
