Resumo

A evolução tecnológica e a interligação crescente entre os diversos setores têm impulsionado mudanças significativas na gestão de destinos turísticos, dando origem ao conceito de smart destinations. Este artigo tem como objetivo a identificação de um projeto embrionário cuja finalidade se prende com a recolha e tratamento de informação, visando a identificação dos processos inerentes à criação do Mafra Lab ODS. O estudo aborda a relevância da convergência entre tecnologia, informação, governância e experiência para o desenvolvimento de destinos turísticos inteligentes. Através de uma investigação exploratória, são realçadas a análise de dados geoespaciais, a inovação tecnológica, a governância eficaz e a experiência do visitante como pilares fundamentais neste contexto. Os resultados evidenciam o impacte positivo das estratégias dos destinos inteligentes no setor do turismo, no desenvolvimento regional e na promoção da sustentabilidade, com o intuito de acrescentar valor em todos estes campos.

    Assistente Convidado na Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril (ESHTE) e investigador colaborador no Centro de Investigação, Desenvolvimento e Inovação em Turismo (CiTUR). Doutorando em Turismo, Instituto de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território da Universidade de Lisboa (IGOT-UL), e Mestre em Gestão Estratégica de Destinos Turísticos pela ESHTE, com ligação a projetos de desenvolvimento turístico e de ensino. Dedica-se ao tema da gestão em turismo, em particular em temáticas relacionadas com o planeamento estratégico, sustentabilidade, smart destinations, entre outras. Ciência ID: DE15-1239-6909.
