Resumo

Considerando a perda do monopólio da recolha, edição e difusão de conteúdos informativos, este artigo pretende contribuir para o debate sobre os desafios que se colocam ao jornalismo profissional. Procedeu-se a uma revisão da literatura centrada nas formas de participação dos cidadãos, tendo em vista estabilizar definições conceptuais sobre jornalismo público, jornalismo cidadão e jornalismo participativo, bem como identificar as respetivas características pertinentes. O quadro teórico resultante dessa revisão orientou a estratégia de recolha de dados através de um inquérito por questionário realizado junto de estudantes de ciências da comunicação. Os resultados da investigação permitem analisar mecanismos de deliberação e de interatividade que podem contribuir para a construção do jornalismo participativo como um território de compromisso entre os jornalistas e os cidadãos.
