Abstract

To contribute to a deeper and more critical knowledge about the photography books published in Portugal over the last 50 years is the purpose of this book, which contextualises and analyses 88 publications in the context of the period in which they were created. Divided into seven thematic chapters, the inventory proposed by a group of researchers linked to photography studies begins with editorial references from pre-25 April and takes the reader on a journey of publications up to the present day, in areas as diverse as photo books that report on 25 April and the social and political changes of the time to more poetic, artistic and conceptual photography.
