Abstract

Visual journalism in Portugal - contributions to a history is one of the cornerstones of one of the largest and most relevant research projects in the field of Communication Sciences carried out in the country in recent years: Towards a History of Journalism in Portugal, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). This work with an exceptional historical component, organized into four parts (photojournalism; cinejournalism and telejournalism; non-daily information on RTP2; journalistic infographics), combines and articulates empirical research techniques in nine chapters whose tone and narrative construction reflect the individuality of each author, being exemplary the care and accuracy with which data and facts are presented.
