Abstract

Mortensen, Neumayer, and Poell, in Social Media Materialities and Protest – Critical Reflections, explore the relationship between social media and social and political protest. The concept of social media is broadly defined and operationalized in this work, encompassing analyses and reflections on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, WeChat, and Sina Weibo, as well as on the use of mobile phones or online encyclopedias, for example.
