O diálogo entre os estudos da comunicação e a história – Proposta de criação da unidade curricular Dinâmicas Comunicacionais Contemporâneas

Este artigo propõe a criação de uma nova unidade curricular designada Dinâmicas Comunicacionais Contemporâneas, a ser considerada no âmbito de uma licenciatura. Focada no estudo dos media e tendo como quadro interpretativo o saber consolidado das teorias da comunicação, defende-se a mobilização da história para a construção dos recortes cronológicos em que vivem os objetos de estudo e a utilização do seu conhecimento e das suas metodologias na construção dos novos saberes. Este diálogo ativo proporcionará uma maior amplitude através da análise das características, dos lugares de produção e da receção mediática nos seus contextos e respetivos processos de interligação em diferentes recortes temporais. O artigo encontra-se dividido entre a justificação teórica e os blocos temáticos: imprensa, cinema, rádio, televisão e comunicação digital. Identifica-se um arco cronológico entre a invenção da prensa, ou seja, o início de uma certa democratização do conhecimento pela difusão da informação, e o impacto dos atuais processos de comunicação digital nas democracias.
